At Premium Tiles, we want buying tiles online to be as simple and stress-free as possible. Below you'll find answers to our most frequently asked questions about ordering, tile samples, delivery, returns, installation and choosing the right tiles for your project.

If you can't find the answer you're looking for, our friendly customer service team is always happy to help.

Ordering & Products

Can I order tile samples?

Yes. We highly recommend ordering a tile sample before placing a full order.

Viewing a tile in your own home allows you to see its true colour, texture and finish under your own lighting conditions, helping you choose with confidence.

Samples are dispatched via Royal Mail and are typically delivered within 2–3 working days.

Can I order more than one sample?

Absolutely. We encourage ordering multiple samples so you can compare different colours, finishes and styles in your own home before making your final decision.

Why should I order a tile sample?

Images can vary depending on your screen settings and lighting conditions. Ordering a sample allows you to see the true colour, texture and finish before committing to a full order.

Are your tiles suitable for bathrooms?

Yes. We stock a wide range of bathroom wall tiles, bathroom floor tiles, porcelain tiles, ceramic tiles and stone-effect tiles suitable for bathrooms of all sizes.

Each product page contains suitability information where applicable.

Are your tiles suitable for kitchens?

Absolutely.

Our collection includes kitchen wall tiles, kitchen floor tiles, splashback tiles, metro tiles, marble-effect tiles, porcelain tiles and many more styles suitable for both modern and traditional kitchens.

Do you sell outdoor tiles?

Yes.

We stock a range of durable outdoor porcelain paving tiles suitable for patios, terraces, pathways and other outdoor living spaces.

Products suitable for outdoor use are clearly identified on each product page.

Can wall tiles be used on floors?

Not always.

Wall tiles are generally thinner than floor tiles and may not be suitable for foot traffic.

Always check the product specification before installation.

Can floor tiles be used on walls?

In many cases, yes.

However, because floor tiles are often heavier than wall tiles, you should ensure your wall is suitable for supporting them and follow your installer's recommendations.

Tile Suitability & Installation

Are your tiles suitable for wet rooms?

Many of our tiles are suitable for use in wet rooms, but it's important to choose a tile with an appropriate level of slip resistance for your project.

When selecting floor tiles for wet rooms, bathrooms or other areas that may become wet, you should consider both the R Slip Rating and the Pendulum Test Value (PTV) where available.

  • R9 – Suitable for most dry internal areas.
  • R10 – Offers improved slip resistance and is commonly used in bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms.
  • R11 – Provides a higher level of slip resistance, making it ideal for many wet rooms, commercial environments and outdoor applications.

Some products may also display a PTV (Pendulum Test Value), which measures slip resistance under wet conditions. In general, a PTV of 36 or above is considered to offer a low slip potential in wet environments.

If you're unsure which tile is most suitable for your project, our team will be happy to help.

Can I use underfloor heating with your tiles?

Many of our porcelain and ceramic tiles are suitable for use with underfloor heating.

Please refer to the individual product specifications or contact us if you're unsure whether a particular tile is suitable.

Do I need to seal my tiles?

Most porcelain and ceramic tiles do not require sealing.

However, some natural stone products may benefit from sealing before or after installation. Where sealing is recommended, this will usually be stated on the relevant product page.

Can your tiles be cut?

Yes. Most of our tiles can be cut using appropriate tile cutting equipment.

For the best results, we recommend using the correct tools or employing an experienced professional tiler.

What grout colour should I choose?

The best grout colour depends on the finish you're trying to achieve.

Matching grout creates a seamless, contemporary appearance, while contrasting grout helps define each tile and can create a more striking design.

Will every tile look exactly the same?

Not always—and that's often part of their beauty.

Many tiles, particularly marble-effect, stone-effect, wood-effect and other decorative designs, are intentionally manufactured with natural variation to create a more authentic appearance once installed.

This means individual tiles may vary slightly in shade, pattern, veining or texture, helping to replicate the look of natural materials rather than appearing identical.

Slight shade differences can also occur between different manufacturing batches. For the closest possible colour match, we always recommend ordering your full quantity at the same time.

If you'd like to see the colour and variation before placing a full order, we recommend ordering a sample.

Delivery

How quickly will my tiles be delivered?

Most in-stock full tile orders are delivered within 1–2 working days using our secure pallet delivery service.

Orders placed before 12:00pm Monday to Friday are often dispatched the same working day.

Why are my tiles delivered on a pallet?

Tiles are heavy and fragile products.

Delivering them on a secure pallet minimises movement during transport and significantly reduces the risk of damage compared to standard parcel delivery.

Do you deliver throughout the UK?

Yes.

We deliver throughout mainland UK. Some postcode areas may attract a courier surcharge, but if this applies we'll always contact you before dispatch.

How much does delivery cost?

Full tile orders are delivered for £29.99.

Delivery is free on qualifying orders over £299.

Tile samples are delivered by Royal Mail for £7.99.

Can I choose my delivery date?

Where possible, yes.

If you have a preferred delivery date, please let us know when placing your order and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

Will I receive tracking information?

Yes.

Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive tracking information where available so you can follow the progress of your delivery.

Returns & Refunds

What if my tiles arrive damaged?

Don't worry.

If any tiles are damaged during transit, we'll happily arrange replacements.

Simply notify us within 48 hours of delivery and follow the simple process outlined in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Can I return my order?

Yes.

If you've changed your mind, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it.

Please refer to our Returns & Refunds Policy for full details and eligibility requirements.

Can I return leftover tiles?

Unfortunately, no.

Because we operate with competitive pricing and rapid stock turnover, we're unable to accept returns of leftover or partially used tiles outside of a full order cancellation.

We also recommend keeping a few spare tiles, as they can be invaluable if you ever need to replace a damaged tile or carry out repairs in the future.

Trade & Large Orders

Do you offer trade discounts?

Trade pricing may be available depending on the project and quantity required.

Please contact our team to discuss your requirements.

Can I place a large trade order?

Yes.

We regularly supply homeowners, tilers, builders, developers, interior designers and commercial projects throughout the UK.

If you're ordering a larger quantity, our team will be happy to help with pricing and availability.
